Ali Ashfaq famously known as “Dhagandey” has joined his fifth local team thus far after a payment settlement issue with New Radiant Sports club. He stated that the move to TC is “The begining of a new chapter” for him. He had been a free agent when the transfer had taken place in the mid season transfer window.
FAM had decided to annul the agreement between New Radiant and Ashfaq due to issue regarding payment of the MVR 3 million contract. It is reported that New Radiant had only paid him a mere 10% of the agreed amount breaking the rules of the contract and disrespecting the Maldivian football legend.
While it is the fifth team that Ashfaaq has joined thus far, it is expected that he will bring a great improvement to the team overall as an individual. The footballer has shown exceptional performances for NRSC in the last season’s Maldivian Premier League,FA Cup,Presidents Cup as well as the Male’ league held this year.
